ALBUM NAME

Kim Norton

Kim Norton is a singer, songwriter, and creative artist from Plymouth, Massachusetts. From an early age, music and performance were a part of her life through theater, dance, chorus, and Glee Club. After years of putting her creative dreams aside while raising her son and navigating major life challenges, Kim found her way back to songwriting and performance. Her music is an expression of her relationship with nature, spirit, and the experiences that shape us as human beings.

Kim describes her sound as “fairy gospel, fairy folk,” a style inspired by folk music, storytelling, and a deep connection to the natural world. Her songs often begin with real emotions and lived experiences. She shares that music allows her to “transmute” difficult feelings like fear, anxiety, and doubt into something that can bring comfort and connection to others. “I feel like nature and spirit uses me as a channel to express things that we need to hear to bring us together and support each other and heal,” she says.

Kim’s path as an artist has been shaped by resilience, community, and a willingness to keep creating despite uncertainty. After being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer shortly after her son was born, she spent many years focused on family and survival before returning to her creative calling. In recent years, her connection with plant medicine, nature, music, and supportive community opened new doors for her as an artist and as a person. Her song “Bumblebees and Butterflies,” which she describes as her favorite song she has written, came from this period of growth and creative exploration.

Within the Gardenhouse Records community, Kim’s music reflects a shared commitment to love, support, creativity, and connection. She believes music can remind people they are not alone and help people find hope during difficult moments. “We uplift each other with our songs,” she says, describing the kind of community and collaboration that continues to inspire her work.
